Hmmm... Where do I begin from? Every year since I don't know when, we would gather at my 阿姨's house to watch the parade together and then later run to the balcony to see the fireworks light up the sky. Yup! We are able to see the fireworks from where she stays! =) Most common scene in the house during 9th August is the whole bunch of us running from the living room to the balcony or outside! Very funny.. Doors will be left unlocked and open just to save us that few milliseconds..

This year was wayyyy different for my mum and I! We were at the Marina Bay itself! Well, the ticket said to be seated by 4:45pm so the non-kiasu us were very punctual! But we still had to sit at the last end of the green sector. Kinda far but good to see the overall view of the parade, very cool! =)
This is our view... Which now on 2nd look, I think is very nice!
This is us all decked out in red!! Patriotism at its best! Haha!We received our goodie bag and boy, were there tons of things to explore in there!! The small portable fan has words!!! It has a LED light panel on one blade and somehow when it spins, words are made. Wayyyy cool! Then there was the clapper... In the shape of a star and it has bright lights and it claps! Haha! Very nice! What else... There were caps... Funny animal caps which of cos, my mum wore... Wait ah, let me find the picture...
Tada!

Also, check out the tattoos we did on ourselves!

Right, so first things first, the Red Lions did their thang!! Parachuting down from the sky! And I managed to capture pretty good photos of them!! Because the stage is much smaller this year, they seem so much closer to us! And the speed they were at while approaching the centre of the stage?? Really causes you to scream and be nervous for them man! Gee!
Doesn't he seem to be looking our way? =p
The 5 Red Lions! *尖叫*What's a parade without the marching contingents eh?
First, they march on to the stage...

Then, they formed NDP 07...

And then, the final attention and march past!

As every parade entails, the fighter jets and their cousins show off their prowess in the skies!

If you watched the parade on television, do you remember the part where the soldiers posed along the aisles and pointed their guns at the audience? Yeah?? You remember?? Move your eyes a little lower...

They were right beside us! The beginning of this parade was so exciting that the audience was kept captivated by the many busy happenings going on. My mum suddenly caught these soldiers pointing their guns at us and screamed sooooo excitedly into my ear! She literally grabbed me by my shoulders and swished me 90 degrees anti-clockwise to stare at these soldiers who by the way, were pointing one of their weapons at ME! *shiver* My mum even went to the extent of
waving at one of the soldiers! Gosh! But I regained my composure and quickly snapped a photo! Heh!
The sky darkened slowly and the performances started.. See the dazzling lights and the number of people who were performing! Truthfully, I don't know what they were performing but was just taking in the lights and sound and water effects that they made. Heard that audiences at home understood the whole performance better cos of the story-telling on television...

Next up of course came the fireworks!! So pretty! Have always loved fireworks.. Here are some nicer photos of the beautiful lights in the sky!

The parade ended with all of us standing up and singing the National Anthem. I still remember my words! =) The day ended with a fabulous dinner at the Oasis Taiwan Porridge place. 阿姨,五舅妈,Justin, HQ, HJ and my sis were all just waiting there for us... Waiting for us to go and finish up the food. As usual, my mum 滔滔不绝, kept going on and on about the Parade. Haha! She really was more excited than I was..
I had fun man! I made history!! Haha! By being part of the first audience of the first ever parade on the Floating Stage at the Marina Bay and of cos, being part of the very first Marina Wave! Haha! =p
