i've been reminiscing alot recently.. was in the car when we drove past Normanton Estate and it reminded me of my Sherwood Kindergarten teacher, Mrs Lee.. cos she stays there.. used to give her lifts home after sch.. i still remember once when i was screaming and crying my head off one night wanting to see her.. at night leh! haha.. I only rem that.. thing was my parents didn't scold me or anything.. i just plain missed Mrs Lee.. best thing now that i think abt it, i don't even know her name.. just know her as Mrs Lee.. the last time my sis and i went back to Sherwood, i was told she retired already.. shucks! which means i somehow dun haf a way to find her.. i wonder how she is now.. hm... *sniff*
then i thot abt my Pri sch teachers.. Ms Annie Tan and Ms Karen Heng.. haha! they were my favourite teachers.. i was actually quite close to them even in pri sch man.. still rem how i loved doing stuff for them.. made me feel impt mah! hahah! other students wanted to help, they say cannot k! =p still remember them praising me.. say they'll never find another student as responsible as i am.. wahahahahaha!!! hilarious.. not that i'm boasting here.. i'm laughing at it myself... but they're both married now and i went to Ms Heng's wedding.. =)
then suddenly Mr Kenneth Choo came into my mind.. he was the only teacher who gave me a nickname.. he used to call me Peaches.. haha! he said i reminded him of it cos of my face.. he was the Prefect Master when i was in sec sch.. i remember one day during GIB aka Girls in *
Bolero, a prefects' camp, he called out names and asked those called to stay back to announce something.. my heart was thumping as i was wondering wat he wanted to say.. so there i was, sitting in front of him listening to him talk.. then he started reading out names and positions in the next comm.. i still rem him saying "and Head of Treasury will be our Peaches here...." then he looked at me and smiled.. wat a nice warm feeling that was! but dun worry, i wasn't like having a crush on him or anything man.. he was such a fierce Prefect Master that i wouldn't dare dream of having a crush on him.. just felt it was really homely to have a teacher give u a nickname.. from that day onwards, everytime i walked into the Prefects' Room and if he was sitting down on the bean bag at the Cozy Corner, he'd shout "Peaches!".. haha! those were fun days.. i loved being part of the SCGS Prefectorial Board!
suddenly, i have so many images flashing across my eyes that i dunno how to put everything into words.. some pple miss their pri sch days.. some miss their jc days but i miss my sec sch days.. being part of the Prefectorial Family strengthened my sense of belonging to SCGS.. not forgetting the fact that i was in SCGS for ten whole years.. my bestest frens were from there.. they were also part of SCGS for ten whole years.. that speaks volumes abt the duration of our friendship.. tho we drew closer at different times in our Pri and Sec life.. now that, i'll leave to another reminiscing time.. =)
